A few months back, my boy had a worrying litle petit pois sized lump on his nether regions..could get fingers under it, decided it was a scratch/prick running in long grass after bunnies, got it checked out anyway, vet said nothing to worry about seemed like an infected graze/nic or possibly a tick nibble. lump went. while later one appeared on back an inch off his spine vertically you could draw a line down and it was kind of above his last rib right hand side. This again i could get fingers under, fractionally bigger than last, but soon filled with pus.manuka honeyed it & it eventually dissappeared. I thought it may have been a prick from a blackthorn/hawthorn/sloe prickly bush or perhaps barbed wire in hedge-flipping bunnies trying to trap him!Fur ever so slightly tinged again this eve so i just checked as I found yet another(no 3) on his r/h hind leg/thigh.this one had a crusty long hard bit which i pulled off, no pus(yet) but looks like may have been .his fur is quite dense tho no tangles as I do groom him, but I struggled to find it seconds later, luckily he's white so easy to search.Going to put manuka on & check again in morning. So I had a closer look again on the one on his back & picked a bit..the scurfy dot old scab came away & underneath is a whitey black bit, that almost looks like a tick segment or splinter-tried negotiating it out, he's being a saint allowing me, but to no avail. Tried tweezers even & its like its just not coming-its hard & the surrounds are red now but it simply is NOT budging..rather like a tick would. More manuka & will try again in morning.Could this be the offending item or something else or simply a funny type of scab or the tick(if it was ever one) He's fine in himself, but you know how it is, given the chance to panic/worry..anyone had anything similar? Chances are it could well be that he had 3 separate pricks & I'm just worrying..embarrasingly I groom him daily & have still missed these unless I've specifically looked. Is this anything I should be worrying over ...I'm expecting springer people will be the most experienced in this one for some reason!
