Strange yard rule - rug leg straps

I'm another one who won't use leg straps. 95% of our rugs are the FAL ones anyway, and they don't have or need leg straps on them. They don't budge either.
 
what bad luck some of you have!
in 25+ years ive never had a problem with using leg straps, or heard of problems from anyone else i know!
