Highly unlikely that it will spread to you as long as there is no direct contact. My horse has had strangles for months & nothing else on the yard has caught it thus far (touch wood.) re: sympotms, if he has it youll know - ridiculous volumes of snot, v.high temperature & a very apathetic donkey!

Unlikely - unless of course you come in to direct contact with a horse that has it.
Very unlikely your horse will get it without direct contact. If it was THAT contagious, every horse kept in the New Forest area would have it as it is ever present somewhere amongst the feral ponies on the open forest.
Keep away, don't allow your horse direct contact with an infected animal (or suspected infected), or someone who has been near an infected animal. You ought to be absolutely fine.
