Said in the newspaper that they didnt believe it was strangles but the shetlands were sent home just in case.
Did you hear how the Clydesdale judging went?! OMG I had to laugh - apparently the judge couldnt decide between the top 2, so she asked them to reverse the horses 3 steps. One horse went smoothly back, the other hesitated for a split second so that's how she decided! Crazy.
I watched some of it and there was a male judge riding, do you know the result of the class? I've looked at the RHS website but couldn't find the result.
i was competing in the clydesdale classes and the judge you are refering to magicmelon was judging the turnout (driving) classes. she was invited over from austrailia SP? and from what vistors from that country were saying that she doesn't have a clue how to judge turnouts and is never asked to judge over their. I must admit they were probably right i know nothing about turnouts but could have probably judged the class better and faster might i add!!! she was ridiculous LOL!!!
As for the ridden clydes i was in that class on a horse called arran (just to let you know if you were there). We were pulled in second but then dropped to 8th cos the little rat wouldn't trot up.
The winner or the ridden was ILPH Baron but as for the other placings i'm not too sure
As for the strangles it turned out to be a virus that showed some of the symtom's of strangles but they made some of the shetlands go home to stop it from spreading further.
Thanks very much for your reply. I was interested in the ridden clydesdale class result because a horse called Molly was in the class, she had suffered from grass sickness last year but has made a great recovery. There were photos of her at the Grass Sickness stand and I wondered if she was placed.
