how long a stable should be left empty for after an infected horse has been in it please? If my Vet wasn't at a conference in Baltimore I'd ask him.
I have finally had an additional isolation paddock built and have kicked the skanky one out of the barn.
mad: that expense wasn't planned, bloody quarantine yards, they tested her in the US for everything else under the sun why not Strangles?)
No apologies for calling her names, she is very sweet, bright as a button and very chipper, but has just been dumped here and I've been left holding the can so to speak, with a shut down yard and all that goes with that. I am so glad I routinely isolate incoming horses especially this one that was supposed to go out with the broodmares and weanlings
Well, that isn't going to happen, at all!
The stall has been emptied, disinfected, scrubbed and cleaned down to the bone but...huge but, my floors are soil, it has been sprayed, but it is impossible to empty, does anyone have any idea how long it is going to be unusable for? Does temperature play a part? We are still fairly warm at about -2C to -6C right now.
Thankyou.
