I've just had my BHS local e-newsletter and it tells me there have been some cases of strangles in the north of the county but no details. Anyone know any more?

Yup, my YO told me of a case around that area. I hope they manage to contain it. I had no idea what it was untill a few days ago and it doesn't sound fun.

Swanspool vets have issued a caution although they say the few cases that there are have been contained so we can go about horsey business as normal. Just watch what you bring in from outside!

I'm just over the border into Cambs, and would appreciate knowing if it is about this area...please!?

I have PMd everyone who has stated that they wanted a PM about this. Anyone else is free to PM me if they have any queries. Not on the yard this post is originally referring to.

Sorry to make my intro post like this!

I will try to find out more tomorrow regarding case in Eaton Bray / South Beds as its 2nd hand information and sent as a warning to me.

The yard in beds is on lock down as a precaution so no need to worry and has been since 26th April

Just be sensible with your new horses coming in - quarantine them for the normal 21 days away from the rest of the yard.

Get the yard equipment disinfected that are shared!

Also people always forget to wash hands in between touching horses! Get the alcohol gel to rub in -no water needed!
