Strangles in Draycott, Derbyshire

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but there has been 30 cases of strangles reported in the Draycott area of Derbyshire

. I will be finding more imformation from the vets later today and will post for anyone that may be in that area.

I think there's been some story tellers out there. We are in Draycott and rang around last night as we heard a rumour, and don't know about 1 let alone 30...

Draycott in miles from Eland Lodge and Hargate. Draycott in the clay is near Spondon; nearer Notts, than Staffs.

Not the first time we have had it on the Nottingham side of Derbyshire.

I have had a phonecall from a friend, she told me her YO horse had been to the vets for the day and they had advised her of the strangles outbreak, they are not allowed off the yard. I went to pick my mare up from a different vets, spoke to a nurse and they hadn't had any cases. So not sure exactly where. Still think it's better to be safe than sorry. My vet is ringing me on Monday so will speak to her then.
