I'm told there are various outbreaks of Strangles in East Anglia and the the College of West Anglia has closed its Milton and Wisbech branches for the meantime in case of infection reaching there.

Does anyone know whereabouts it actually is or have any further news?

We're in Gamlingay, S Cambs & a yard up the road put a note in our post box about a month ago saying they'd got a confirmed case of stranges. Haven't heard anything since.

I've also heard that it has affected Ely and Soham areas?????

Does anyone know of any other confirmed cases?

I imagine it'll affect the competing venues and comps/shows themselves, as people won't want to run the risk of infection

i live near kings lynn and have not heard nothing, got a local show in my village this week don't think i'll risk going to watch now as we have foals due soon and i would hate a baby/pregnant mummy to catch it

Apparently the cases in Fordham / Soham area have been contained. Found out from the local vets yesterday. I have my horse in Fordham so it was a little worrying to know it was on the doorstep!

I am in Essex and know of a few outbreaks in the area
and my friend actually bought a horse from a dealer who is knowing selling horses with strangles and not telling anyone
He is going to shows weekly 2.

Yep I also know of strangles in essex althought that was a month or two ago and no yards local to them have caught it so seems to be contained.

I'm in Cambs and my dentist told me at the weekend that it was all over the place
