I will be taking my horse to Hampshire in about 6 weeks. My trainer told me that is quite a lot of strangles in the area? I saw on Hampshire Rider FB that one of the vets is having a talk about it. How bad is it? Are the dressage shows still going ahead?

Are you going to compete or moving there?

Best bet is to call the venue's you are competing/moving to. If strangles is present, you don't *have* to but the common "Lockdown" procedue is to stop all horses entering or leaving the yard until clear swabs are taken. Usually this means competitions will not go ahead on an infected yard.
