I have just been told of four confirmed cases of strangles in horses on grazing in Hutton, Weston-s-Mare.

The horses are out 24/7 on land off Moor Lane (that leads to the old airfield).

This is not a rumour, the cases have been confirmed by the owner.

Please don't ask me any questions about this, I am posting what I know for those local to the area and will staying as far away from there as I can until the infection is over.

Thanks for letting us know! i am picking up a horse for a friend and moving down onto moor lane so will hold off for now!

they are supposidly moving the horses to their own premises in four weeks time so hopefully the threat will go! well saying that, hutton is currently an area that is holding lots of dealers horses in passing so unfortunatly there is going to be a high risk for a while, but i hear things have developed so they may not be around for much longer, but i shant say to much!

I know exactly what you mean and understand why it's best to say as little as possible.

Not too sensible to move infected horse though!

no but atleast they are moving them straight to their own premises rather than around weston! means they can get rid of all bucket etc and replace stufff to make sure nothing else that moves onto the yard gets it!
