I’ve posted this on Latest News but feel more people will see it here. Post on Oakham vets Facebook page yesterday - within 10 miles radius of Oakham it says currently. Take care and think twice about taking your horse out competing/hunting in the area. The yards are also still open (one is a riding school!)

I am based in Somerby ( small private yard - not the riding school with strangles !!) . I am suprised at how hush hush it has all been kept ! Ive completely cancelled any events we were planning on attending and bunkering down for a while .

Very scary.

It is! I worked at the riding school for quite a long time but left in 2017 so I may know you?! What a small world! I now live in Lincolnshire so not a million miles away and I was going to go hunting yesterday but decided against it thank god as I’m going to avoid big groups for a while. My boy is nearly 24 and I’d hate for him to get it now and he may not survive it at his age.

That's funny ! I moved from Lincolnshire ( spalding direction) to Thorpe satchvile a few years ago ! So probably swapped postcodes around the same time.

Definitely, it's just not worth the risk for the sake of a days hunting.

Fingers crossed it all passes soon,

That is funny, I am Grantham way but was based around Somerby for a good 17/18 years from childhood! Yes I’m going to avoid any group gatherings until we see what’s happening with it being spread, etc.
