Friend of mine took a rug into Countrywide for cleaning today and apparently they're not taking in because there's a strangles outbreak in the area? Does anyone know anything about this?
Strangles in South Wales, anyone heard anything?

was surprised by CountryWide taking action as did a quick google and couldn't find anything... someone said one of the riding schools has it, and surely if that were the case it would be news.
Re the rumour it's in Dinas, it's totally rubbish as I know people on the yard named and it's just a vicious runour as there's never been any question of strangles there

My info isn't a rumour as I heard it dtraight from a girl who keeps her horse on that yard.
She walked into my office and I sh1t myself when she said it! But she reassured me that she hadn't been up the yard that day and all her clothes were on clean!

Not sure where it would be news - as it's not a notifiable disease. However, my information is that no riding schools are implicated - however some are taking precautions because of the locality fo the outbreak.
