Can any one confirm this or is it the rumour mill running overtime again? I've heard plenty of rumours but noone seems to know where it is or be able to substantiate it!

Hadlow college have now cancelled events due to the risk of them possibly getting it from a horse going to them so I'm now assuming it must be true as it would be expensive for them to do this.

I have been told where it is by a reliable source but probably shouldn't say on the forum. However as they are apparently still taking horses out competing, that puts any horse in the area at risk.

Apparently the yard with strangles have taken horses to wales and west; if that's true I pity whoever is stabled next to them as they will be at high risk. Terribly irresponsible.

Yep, Hadlow definitely cancelled stuff they were holding this weekend due to the risks - a friend of mine was entered and got called to say it was cancelled, think it was combined training. Incredibly irresponsible if they're still taking horses out - strangles isnt something to be embarrassed to have on your yard, I have far much more respect for people who openly admit they have a horse with it and take appropriate measures than those that keep it hush hush in an attempt to carry on as normal.

Yes it's confirmed at a yard between Tonbridge & Tunbridge Wells.

Hadlow cancelled their combined training on Sunday as not worth the risk with their exams coming up so can't afford to have any horses out of action or in lock down.

Frustrating as 4th competition cancelled on the trot for me :(

Hope horses suffering make a full recovery.

I'm in Kent but not Tunbridge Wells, seems to be growing problem of irresponsible owners/YM's who are not willing to approach strangles appropriatley!! Very frustrating.

I heard yesterday about the yard on the outskirts of Tonbridge/ T.Wells have isolated the horse with strangles but yard is still open and allowing horses in and out. Very stupid IMO .

Morrismob that's exactly what I'd heard that they haven't gone into 'shutdown' mode - VERY irresponsible! It's so easily spread :(
