Everytime we mention this to anyone they go euwwww stratford hills no don't do it!!!!

Well 2 PN's and a 4yo are entered there but if its really likely to be bad ground, yuk courses we'll withdraw them now?! Any views....

Also any experiences of Eglinton (I know we like to travel up and down the country but it hasan advanced!). Again hearing good and bad so any views?

Im taking my two to Stratford Hills for the PAVO classes.

It is a lovely event, and very hilly need fit horses.

The ground can be hard there which I think is peoples main problem but they do, do their best. And I think it is having a good change this year so I have heard.

It is one of my closest events, its an hour from me.

Ya, I go there a couple off times a year. As i said in an earlier post to HollyJane, give David Merret a ring at Kiln Saddlery, Colchester,he's the course designer for the BE event again this year. He can give you the low down on it,. Im taking my horse up for some schooling over their new shorter track prior to the BE event running, I can report back with ground conditions then

I was there a couple of weeks ago b4 the rain on the BE course and it was very hard, but then we have had rain now so will hopefully be better, and no one will be riding on it till the BE event.

David Merret always builds a great course, ive had a few lessons with him, he is very friendly

Can only speak for Eglinton and it's a bit mixed. Dressage very good with big flat field and huge warm-up. SJ normally up to height and causes bother but no particular reason as not many tradestands and hardly any spectators! Cross-country is a very old fashioned track, lots of big fences at all levels, lots of undulations and I would imagine near maximum length. Never jumped the advanced there but beleive a lot of people use it as their first and the water is quite tough apparently. Ground conditions are normally excellent (ie never hard although can be very wet!) as on the west coast so gets plenty rain!
