Straw baling

Hi, plz can I ask if anyone knows the answer to my question. The straw has been rowed up and waiting to be baled. Whilst its been on the ground last night and today it has been rained on. My question is, can it still be used when baled for horse bedding?

Yes of course. They will probably leave it to dry before baling anyway. In Scotland if we didn't use things that were rained on, we would never have any bedding or forage at all.

Yep but it's likely to be more dusty than it would have been - same as hay that has been rained on while drying.

Thank you. Sould we spin it up when we have some dry days like you would with hay. :0)

I wouldn't bother the wet will be on the top and that'll be the first to dry - it's dry and dead when cut different to hay. The baler will usually tell you if it's too wet cos it'll play up!!
