I like them a lot in general to muck out however you may want to try a sample. My horse and the other one on the yard kept trying to eat them so I ended up dampening them down. I bought them because I liked the idea that they would be drier than wood pellets so that didn't work. I deep litter and I find they clump more than wood pellets so not so good there.
I got a sample to compare with wood pellets. Supposedly treated with anti microbial. They didn't smell as nice, and started growing mould whilst sat on my kitchen windowsill
one of mine ate them. I find they get very sticky and when they do they stick to everything, rugs, horses and are a reall so and so to get off cos they set like concrete. One of my hairy shetlands who used to roll in it got such bad clumps I had to cut them out. Changed back to wood pellets and kept with them
