Straw Pelletts - Pro's and con's please

I like them a lot in general to muck out however you may want to try a sample. My horse and the other one on the yard kept trying to eat them so I ended up dampening them down. I bought them because I liked the idea that they would be drier than wood pellets so that didn't work. I deep litter and I find they clump more than wood pellets so not so good there.

I got a sample to compare with wood pellets. Supposedly treated with anti microbial. They didn't smell as nice, and started growing mould whilst sat on my kitchen windowsill :(

I'm sticking with wood pellets.

one of mine ate them. I find they get very sticky and when they do they stick to everything, rugs, horses and are a reall so and so to get off cos they set like concrete. One of my hairy shetlands who used to roll in it got such bad clumps I had to cut them out. Changed back to wood pellets and kept with them
