I am thinking of going DIY rather than part livery. Can anyone help me with estimated pricing of;

1/ Small bales top quality hay and medium quality hay
2/ Small bales top quality straw
3/ Small bales of good quality shavings

I am in Kent.
Thanks

i am in west sussex and i pay,

hay- £3.50
straw- £2
shavings (well i use hemp but it is about the same price if not cheaper than shavings) - £8.80

Have you considered wood pellets instead of shavings, cheaper, easier to handle, quicker to muck out etc depends which company and which size bags but from 3.50 - 6,00 a bag and I only use I or two to top up with weekly. Personally I use thirsty bed

Paying between 3.50 - 3.75 for hay
I was paying 6.50 a bale of cushionbed (wood chip like easibed) but have discovered bedsoft which is a larger bale (chopped rape straw) for 7.00. I am currently also experimenting with wood pellets and am paying 3.00 a bag for them but the jury is out at the moment for them as silly mare thought the ones that hadn't broken down were nuts and started to eat them!!!
I'm in Norfolk between Thetford and Norwich...

What are wood pellets like? they sound BIG. Do they make a comfy bed? Can you create big banks - we have a silly 5 yr old 17hh Irish Draft X who had a habit of kicking against the stable wall and pushing his back shoes FORWARD so now we have to build massive (straw) banks which has (at the time of writing) done the trick. He was becoming very expensive with the farrier. It's just that straw is very messy and time consuming so would welcome anything quicker as long as not more expensive.
