How ridiculous is this country??
Out walking my dog, we get bombarded by a loose dog...no collar, no human...black and tan (maybe Rottie cross?) in a poorly lit area. Saw another dog but it vanished moments later.
So, what do you do?
We called the RSPCA - After the worlds longest list of options.."The RSPCA does not deal with stray dogs, pleasecontact your local dog warden"
Contact Directory Enquiries to get the dog warden's number - "Welcome to Mid Beds Council, we're sorry but the Office is now closed"
So, the Police, after all the dog is running loose on the road and could cause an accident... "Sorry, we don't pick up stray dogs...you can take it to the Luton kennels though"...
Yeah, I'm going to put an unknown dog in the back of my car, which does not have a dog guard and drive all to Luton....erm. No.
Spoke to the Vet..."well, If I'm honest with you...you're gonna be stuck with it for the weekend"
Not good. We have a very upset border collie (the stray kept jumping on him, he's the sensitive type) two terrified cats...and two cages of small rodents one flimsy door away from where we've current got it shut in!!
Have contacted Dog Lost but still....surely there must be some Governing body to deal with stray dogs outside of business hours???
