My mare injured her deep digital flexor tendon about a year ago in her hind leg and while she's now wound she's coming up with swelling round her fetlock on that leg, I think it's just a windgall but she was galloping round the field a couple of days ago and her whole fetlock has swollen up. She's sound with no heat or pain so I'm happy she's not done anything nasty to it but I would like to strengthen up that whole area to help prevent further injuries and was wondering if anyone knows any exercises I can do with her to help.
Thanks :D

Walking on a level surface is the best way to build up following tendon damage, weeks of steady roadwork before doing any circles or faster work, be careful to keep feet correctly balanced and do not leave too long between visits from the farrier.
It can take many months for them to fully recover and the longer you take in returning them to full fitness the stronger they will become.
