Levi had another case of stress colic on Sunday :(

He is fine now, but I have the dentist coming. My question really is , should I cancel the dentist ? Is is usually ok, not happy about it ( who would be) but not overly stressey.

Also when would you ride after a stress colic? I have cancelled Daisy's lesson today, but wondering if that was over cautious

my horse had 2 of these in the space of a month. In the first case he had the following day off but in the 2nd case he was worked. I guess it depends on how badly he has colicked. In both cases my horse wasn't too bad although the first was the worst. If you know the cause of the colic then you need to address that so as to prevent it happening again. In my horses case it was due to lack of turnout so a yard move and he's now out more than in and much happier.

A friend of mine had a pony many years ago and he had colic quite a few times always on a Sunday evening,my friend said it was stress colic because her daughter only rode him at the weekend , I asked her if any thing else changed at the weekend ,he was given a feed on saturday and sunday morning, the other days he was just turned out in the morning, I suggested doing every day the same , she had that pony for many years and he never had another colic .
Why do you say your horse has stress colic? hope you dont mind me asking.
