Hi I have a 16.3Hh Warmbloodx Mare.
She competes and is worked regulary however I have recently had to move yards with my other 13.3Hh pony.
She is still in the same area and it has now been a few months since we moved, however she has started to become really stressed weaving and box walking.
She is not constantly like this as some days she is fine and tends to be alot better once worked.
There had been some road workds behind the stable where we are and this seems to be the stem of the problem.
Would anyone be able to share any ideas of how we would be able to calm her down as at the moment she is already on equine america so calm powder.
Thanks

Thanks

We do have winter grazing and she does go out most days.

They will be going out for summer turn out soon as well.

Would you suggest to see how she goes in summer?

A lot of people really rate stable mirrors as a way of combating stress. However, if she's weeving and box warlking my preference would be to have the horse out as much as possible.

Can you swap stables with someone else? Some horses take a dislike to some stables, I have known horses that would not settle unless they could see the fields and others that wanted a completely quiet part of the yard. I suspect the noise from the builders has wound her up (wound one of mine up recently as it was behind the stable and he could not see what was happenning).

Thanks with your help I have been turning her out whenever I can and have now put a bar accross the opening of her door which has helped.

She seems alot quieter now so will have to see how it goes.
