Wed Night on way home from horses, dark country roads , freezing cold very icy , come round corner on rural road, had major tyre blowout , all over the road skidding on the ice !! was very scary moment !!! my driving was quite good tho , and managed to right the skid safely enough and thankfully road was empty , and no one was hurt , got tyres sorted and all checked out , no problems , altho i wondered why one would just blow out , but just wear and tear garage said .

Then Last Night Thursday , my little poor old cushings, laminitic pony who wasnt looking too good not so long ago , now on his increased medication he is the life and soul of the party again !! feeling very cheeky !!!

he somehow escaped from his field and was away off on his merry travels !!! he had my other horse follow him and they both went away to local village a few miles away !!! i was so worried !! thinking they had been stolen !! ( not very likely )
then worried if they got run over etc , had call from a local lady , they had trundled along to her yard and been captured and were stabled and fed and acting as tho they had lived there all their lives !!!
so relieved they were ok and safe, but quite embarassed that they forced themselves on this kind family !!
and my little 12.2hh was trying to bully one of the ladies big 17hh horses in the stable next to him : )

Got them back home safely , 12.2hh looks so smug and pleased with himself , and trotted off back into his other field with his tail all kinked up and squealing !!

little ponies can be so cheeky !!!
xx

Whew - thank goodness you handled the blow out and skid so well! Re your cheeky little cushings ned - couldn't you train him to hold a £5 note and shopping list in his mouth and nip down to Tescos with the yard cream cake order? I'm working on it with my expert escaper Sunny but he gets sidetracked by the grass verges {{sigh}} xxx

yes , it was very scary but thank goodness i got out of it ok .

haha, yes that would be great , he coule make himself uselful !!
he loves to try and get into the village shop !! we hack along sometimes thru the summer for an ice cream etc , tie him up outside at the rail and he peers and stretches around the door trying to look in and attract attention , and then all the kids and old ladies come out and see him . xxx

Its good you didnt crash on the ice!!

Your pony sounds just like ours, very cheeky with alot to say for himself!! We have a 12.2 welsh b.

Our horse used to take himself (with his rider) to the ice cream van when we went to one park, the man once gave him an ice cream and he never forgot! He used to go and stand in line and wait his turn. Its not just the ponies who are cheeky.
