I'd quite like a set of these as I currently use Legacy brushing boots, which I love. However recently I've noticed that they her legs seem to be a bit puffy after I've been using them, so I think her legs are getting hot in them and they're rubbing her a bit as they're quite stiff. I was thinking about trying the flatwork wraps as the seem more flexible, but i wasn't sure if this meant they did offer as much protection etc?

ETS: for clarification its these ones, http://www.frogpool.com/product-4671.htm
Thanks! Vx

In my opinion / experience they are definitely brushing boots in a very literal sense- I don't think they would offer anywhere near enough protection for nasty over reach injuries or if you were going xc. As flatwork boots to avoid the occasional brushing incident though, they are superb

Agree with ever_so

I use them and they are great for schooling/lunging and they would protect against a random knock but not much more.

Plus they say don't put in the washing machine but I always do and they are fine

(don't blame me if they shrink though haha)

OK, cool, thanks, I want them for flatwork (i really want the training wraps but can't afford £60 a pair!) just because she sometimes knocks her legs together (she's a little spesh!) and because she's not in regular work atm I just want something to give her a little protection

My vet loves them too strangely enough!

My mare cut her leg earlier this year and needed stitches.
Rather than rebandaging every day we used melolin pads, covered by the stretch and flex boot and then the whole lot covered by a Aerborn leg wrap.

Saved SOOOO much time and meant she could go out in the field with it too

I love them - have had a pair for 6 years and they are still very useable, although rather shabby now. The velcro still works and they have fitted 3 horses in that time, with no rubs or puffiness. I only use them for flatwork though, I don't think they would give enough protection for anything else.

By accident I found that a good way to clean them was just to soak overnight in the water bucket (well, my horse found it out for me) - they looked like new!
