A few years ago I replaced my worn out Sergio Grassio boots (the tall ones with zip at back and no laces) with an identical pair. Before I broke them in I got pregnant and 2 kids later am left with a beautiful new pair of boots that are a little bit too tight to ride in :-( I am the same weight I was pre-kids but have taken up running so my calves are a bit bigger.

Does anyone know of anywhere that I can send them to get them stretched? They only need an inch or so and it is soft leather. I am keen to avoid the elasticated zip that can be added.

thanks

I was going to post that I managed to stretch mine by using stretch spray (bought from a local cobbler) then using rolled up magazines inside them to apply pressure. But that was because they'd got wet and contracted a bit. I think an inch is quite a "stretch"!

Personally if yours are new I would sell them and buy a pair that fits! An inch is a huge stretch for them and could really mess them up!

The leather can stretch a couple of inches without problem. Steam is the way we used to do it years ago for customers, . Using a steamer or kettle to warm and moisten the inside of the leg, let it cool a bit, then wear them or get someone with a slimmer leg to walk around in them for a while.

This is exactly the same as I did, apart from mine was after one child not two!! Same make and style boots and everything. I stretched mine myself with shoe stretch spray that I bought from amazon. Put flight socks on to get they fluid out of my legs (wore them overnight to get my legs good and skinny... ish) so that I could get them done up, sprayed them inside and out, put plastic bags on my legs to stop the stuff getting on my skin and wore them for a morning. Much better. I've since lost a couple of pounds and they're perfect now.

If you can do them up then you'll manage to stretch them enough.

Brilliant thank you. Will try that first and if not have pros to fall back on. Don't want to sell them as a )think they'll stretch enough and b) although they are new I know I'll only get a fraction of their cost and replacement value (I know lots of people sell stuff successfully but I'm not one of them)!
