string test for a 4 year old??

i have been reading about string tests to estimate the height of a yearlings .....would that test work for a 4year old ...????

I did this on my Clydesdale and it was accurate....he was 8

I believe it works for any horse from 1 year.

i've done both types of string test both come up t around 15.2/15.3 he is 5 in april and about 14.3hh now do you think that he could make 15.3hh ??

Which string test? I tried both and slightly different...

I tried this on my 4 year old and it said 16.3hh + non of her parents were that big I think! She is around 16.2 so every possibility she ends up that big though


I heard there were a few methods- does anyone have both so i could try again?

yes i did those to string test the 1 st one came up to 15.3 to 16hh
the second method came up 15.2 to 15.3hh
he is 14.3/15hh now do you think he could make that height

he is a standardbred ....i dont know his parent ...

try the string test on the link in the other thread .....not sure if it acurate though
