Has anybody had surgery on their horse to stop stringhalt? What did the procedure entail of? Is it a high success rate? What is the down time from exercise after the surgery and what was the cost like? Many thanks

Some years ago a big DWB at a yard I was at had this surgery. He was rested in a tiny paddock for quite a while I seem to remember. I think it cost about £2,000 but that was a good 10 years ago and things will have changed a lot since then.
He made an excellent recovery. However he still had the same gait!! It seemed not to make any difference. He only did the snatching thing with his leg in walk and continued to showjump for sometime. He then went hunting very sucessfully.
