At the moment i'm riding a 6/7 year old cob whos about 14hh. Recently i've noticed that his hocks lock and then he snatches them back down, more noticeably in walk and downhill.
I'm going to get his back done, massages and mctimoney but someone was saying it looks like he could have stringhalt, albeit, very mildly.
What else should i look for? He seems happy in himself but its a very strange movement.
I don't want to worry his owner without the need too!

Sounds like stringhalt to me too Mosh. I think this can get a little worse with age but tbh can't remember the details. Wait a bit - there'll be someone on the Forum who knows all about this! Failing that, I'd Google it and look for a reputable veterinary website x

strinhalt is a neurological (nerves) disease though to be possibly caused by neural changes / lesions etc due to viruses / infections etc. symptoms are exaggerated flexion of the hindlimb, from slightly more than normal to slapping the belly in bad cases. there is a lot of research going on about it at the mo, especially in usa, as there seems to be outbreaks of horses getting it in the same areas, they are looking at using high fibre / oil diets and reducing sugar levels in the diet. id google it, if you dont have any joy, pm me!
i would have the vet check him out the TBH, if its something like fibrotic myopathy then without wanting to panic you, vet intervention is needed asap!

going to the vets on friday, Trying to catch a lift, if not, the vets will be here soon asap!
Not looking good, my poor little jumping pony
