Brought my pony as a four year old for sj/ eventing. His flat and jumping has come on but one issue we keep facing is he get really strong and runs into the jump. He's in a neue schule training bit which he goes in well on the flat but needs something a little stronger as ridden by a 13year old.

Any adive or experiences?

Thanks in advance

Improve his flat work and then add poles to the work. Trot over them and halt in a straight line. Then put at canter distance and canter over and halt in a straight line. Hen do the same with a small grid. You will be surprised how qickly he will learn

Sorry just trying to correct quickly and it posted.
Do the same on a circle with poles. Then figures of 8 with poles and stopping. It all helps to engage the hindquarters and keep them.listening and off your hands. Remember to release the rein and pat each time you halt
