Hi

At the moment our middleweight hunter is ridden in a double bridle with a normal weymouth and bradoon bit. However how much working in we do he always gets strong in the ring and takes hold of the bridle - one judge commenting on it today! Would a longer shank work - he tends to be above the bit normally, or is there a bradoon bit that could help prevent him taking hold?

Am having trouble find a long shank weymouth could anyone tell me where I could buy one.

many thanks

nt used a double bridle before but my pony is verystron and even more when he is excited and took him to his first show in a snaffle and didnt get at all strong in the ring
allthogh he got extremley strong in warm up ring before jumping

If he's taking hold of it you probably want to try and change the actual mouthpiece instead of the cheeks. Also if you say he's above the bit then he sounds like he not happy with what's in his mouth, and a longer shank will just make it worse as that will be more pressure on him.
