Situation normal
Morning all. Just a little post to update those of you who were kind enough to comment in AHHO about Thumper, and our 'galloping issues'.
This weekend was the first opportunity that I had to go back out and truly do any fast work with him (have been cantering in the woods etc. but not much room to let go.....)
So armed with martingale, gloves, and a short supply of courage, off we went to the mountain.
He was a star. I cantered him up a sharp incline first off, just to get the sparkle out of his toes - and then proceeded round the canter track as normal.
MFH-09, I let him bowl merrily along at his own speed and couldn't have been happier. I was able to check without the head flinging up, and he was happy to come back and move on as I asked.
Boss - rode much more from my seat, back and legs, with a much quieter hand, and softer contact, which really worked.
Many thanks to all of you who gave support. Feel 100% back on par with the lad, and was just delighted with him.
