I have a strong little pony who has a super ability for dressage but i think she has been messed about in her mouth previously and was wondering what people found the best/strongest combo for dressage. Bearing in mind she has the moves for elementary but i havnt really competed dressage so want to keep it simple at first. Any ideas??

Unfortunately as its got to be a snaffle up to Elementary, so maybe a hanging cheek with a flash or drop noseband????

I was thinking along those lines but is a drop noseband legal and is it more effective do you think if she is strong in the mouth but has some respect for nose pressure

A drop is definately legal. I find my horse is more responsive and listens more when his mouth is shut but then he has a tongue habit which means hes constantly opening and shutting his mouth. I use a normal noseband for hacking.

I would say a hanging cheek with a drop, Toto's dentist recommended us a drop noseband as Toto opens his mouth but hates flashes, as does the dentist. We've never looked back! He loves it and works really well in it. We've also switched to Myler bits, he seems more comfortable
