Struggling to find gundog trainer

Not really sure where we are going wrong? We've researched and contacted a number of places now that advertise to offer gundog training and not a single one has lead to anything. A few we simply heard nothing back at all or couldn't get an answer on the phone, others initially responded and then after we replied totally ghosted us (both over messages and on the phone). I understand that it is the season currently and people are busy but this has spanned a couple of months now (we wanted to get in there early as no idea how booked up places tend to get) - on 2 different occasions I messaged as a direct response to a social media post telling people to get in touch if they are interested. Both times nothing.

Feeling a bit disheartened and not sure where to go from here? I have explained in my messages her age, breed, that we have started on the basics and that although she won't be having to earn her keep as a gundog, we want to do this as a hobby for both ourselves and as a way to train her for what she was bred to do. If we turn out to be not too bad at this then it is absolutely something we want to pursue more seriously (but also need to walk before we can run).

Any advice would be appreciated. We are more than happy to travel to find the right trainer.

Are you on any Facebook relevant groups? I presume yes.
She’s the pointy dog? Did you look at Kimberley Gundogs, they’ve just released a load of weekend training courses.

Thanks all! Sorry would have been helpful to say location - we are Worcestershire/Herefordshire border

Thanks Clodagh, yes on quite a few of the big Facebook groups as well as the breed specific ones. I hadn’t initially contacted Kimberley as was one of the ones quite far from us (assume I have the right one - Devon?) but going to drop them a message to widen the search!

Where are you, what breed, what are your aims and how "fluffy" do you feel about correcting the dog?
We are Worcestershire/Herefordshire border but happy to travel within reason if it’s worth it. We moved down fromNorth Yorkshire 5 years ago and both our families are still up there so that is also an option as we still visit regularly. She’s a GWP just coming up 9 months. We are not the dog version of pony patters if that helps!

If you're 'fluffy' as Druid put it, then Helen Phillips/Clicker Gundog.

If not so 'fluffy', then Deb Bowns, Paul Brant, Lee Loveridge

not so fluffy… is that the carry it around by the ears as it didn’t stop quick enough on the whistle? Or just the fact that it’s not all positive?

Just not all positive - I correct my dogs (not physically) but not everyone is happy to do so.

Love - Kimberly are fantastic, they've been nothing short of tremendous in all my dealings with them. I think Worcs Gundog Club have a lot of training days and courses. They would be a good foot in the door to the local trainers.
