I always struggle to find a nice competition boot which fits my calf width, I am not obese by any means and there a lot of ladies bigger than me who wear beautiful boots. I really do not want to have to result in chaps!!! :-( someone please help and recommend some!!! :-( xx

I would be very interested to know too. I tried the dublin Normandy boots wide fitting size 7 when I am a 6 and still couldn't zip them up. Was gutted. I am also not overweight although I do have quite big calves I wouldn't say they were massive!

I have just bought the Gorse x rider and they are so comfy and look fab.

Any clues on the max width for calves? I can't find calf widths on the sizing chart for those boots, only the rowan, ash etc. Stupid leg is all a funny shape and I need some decent long boots.

www.kanyonoutdoor.com/sizing_info.pdf taken from website. I have the Ash boots in wide and the Gorse Rider were fine in xw for me. I found I had to go up to xw due to the zip. I have a calf abit bigger on one leg due to a riding accident and got squished.

I wouldn't say the gorse x are smart enough to compete in, but they are lovely everyday riding boots? MH Supremes are soft leather & are more flexible than the Richmond in terms of calf size.

ive got toggi long boots which are smart enough for competing and quite wide fitting....i use mountain horse high rider for hacking and yard work and find them really comfortable..
