Hi,
Is anyone else struggling to sell ponies at the moment. I have the sweetest new forest for sale. Ive tried advertising her on H&H, and other big websites with no phone calls.

Any tips or anyone know of anyone who might want a 13.2??

Got to be honest the market for selling is probably the worst Ive ever seen it!!! My friend advertised her 4yr old Hannovarian mare who has been proffessionally schooled for 6,000 and then for 3,000 ended up selling it as a broodmare for £200!!!!!!! People are just not spending any money and the cost of livery is going up as well as hay prices. Maybe you could loan the pony until the market picks up???

The market is varied at the moment - some selling immediately, other lovely sounding ponies/horses hanging around for months!

I have my pony on NFED and have had quite a few emails, and have several viewings booked, so am hoping the right person will come along and fall in love with him.

Good luck finding a lovely home for your mare.

The market is totally pants at the moment. Although if you have the cash its very good to be buying :D ( I don't have any cash)

I was talking to my farrier who knows a meat man in the area (disgusting I know) and he said that the price of horse meat is on the floor as well with no one really buying, he reckons this may be adding to the crap horse market?????????????

I sold a pony in a 13.2 in August 2008 for £2000 as a PC pony which I thought was a fair price for him. I check on ponies that I have sold if I can on the internet if I am not in touch with the new owners. This pony sold within 2 weeks in August 2010 off an asking price of £3000.
I think everyone wants made ponies and are not prepared to wait or spend on anything that not just right. Perhaps your advert needs changing, sometimes varying it can help. Also hate to say it but the summer holidays are over and lots of people buy ponies in April once the good weather starts.
