Stubben Bridles...

...right, all you knowledgable people. I am due a Stubben bridle- so which do you recommend? It's for a fairly delicate ISH mare, and needs to be brown. I would like padded nose and browband, and NO BLING please!

What's the difference between a Caveson and a Hanovarian noseband?

Hanovarian noseband is sometimes also called a crank.

Good luck finding just a plain cavasson noseband, no one seems to do them anymore.

I know- I tried to fin d a bridle with a nice drop noseband the other day- evidently they just aren't fashionable now.
 
when you say brown - do you mean havana (dark brown) or tan (chesnutty colour)? I have a brand new F/S tan Stubben bridle with padded cavesson noseband and padded browband which I bought for a chestnut horse which I've now sold. If you would be interested in it, please PM me! It has been oiled but never used.
 
Thanks spacefaer, but unfortunately, I want a dark brown havana one please, and think a FS might be a little large on Squidgit.

A hanovarian noseband is a drop noseband.

All of the 'run of the mill' stubben bridles do not come with a crank, and the stubben 3000 (split head) can come with a cavesson. The Stubben 191 (brass fittings) is also lovely. I had that one for my TB had good proportions for his face

ETA: you can get some of the bridles with a hanovarian noseband (drop) direct from stubben - including the 3000.

The 3000 is thinner than any of the other stubben bridles, it's designed for horse's with lighter features (ie not most warmbloods!) I have it for my Arab and it's a lovely bridle. The one thing I would say (which bugs my ex dressage trainer) is that it only has the ability to adjust the cheek piece on one side, it's one ling bit of leather then a cheek piece rather than 2 cheek pieces...does that make sense?
