hi does anyone know what the tree sizing of stubben saddles mean ? they come in tree sizes 27,28,29,30,31,32 does anyone have tree size 30 ,31, or 32 if so what is the D to D measurement ? looking for a wide/ extra wide on wintec scale he had an exselle saddle size m,w,w, if this helps ?

Oh bugger - I have a size 28 for sale !! This is a narrow I believe & I think 29 or 30 would be a medium but am not much help at all !!

i've seen a nice scandica cs for £650 new ! saddler wants £1200 for the same saddle ! so might as well get what i think is a close size and then get saddler out to adjust it if needed as max that would be is £60 ! i know saddler should fit it but spent £850 on an exselle saddle that was fitted last year by saddler and it was never right !

I think that when people quote D to D, they are physically measuring from the D rings on the saddle, which is not terribly accurate.

Stubbens start at 27, which is basically their most narrow. Most TB types will need a 28 or 29. The problem is that if you buy a second hand saddle, it could have started out life one size and been modified, so you will always have to get a saddler to check it for you.

I have a TB mare who is classed as a Good Medium fit by a proper Master Saddler. She has a 30 fitting which I had modified for her.
