Stubben Siegfried MF Special Jumping Saddles, what are they like?

Not sure about the jumping saddle but I had a very old Stubben saddle that fitted every thoroughbred I ever put it on. Really comfy and very secure, always put you in the right position, although it was a VSD not jumping seat. Loved it - well made, cleaned up well

Stubben saddles are extremely well made and good quality and seem to go on for ever, the downside is they can be heavy. I have had two Stubben's. They were bargains simply because they are not very fashionable in the UK. Go to Europe and everyone uses them.

My saddler friend complains that from new they can have hard flocking, but that can easily be changed.

I've just bought one of the new style Stubben jumping saddles and it's not heavy at all (in comparison to the old style one's).
IMO a Stubben takes some beating

I love them - got a VSS (jumping) and a Tristan (dressage) and they keep you in a really good strong position and the quality is brilliant. I part-exchanged my old 25-yr old vss for a new larger one and actually got more money for it from the saddler than I'd originally paid. They have suited all my horses from connies to tbs to warmbloods and would always be my first choice when buying a new one.

I have a Stubben Siegfried MF soecial jumping saddle, i am selling mine as it doesnt fit my warmblood cross  ,this saddle is very comfy to ride in, i have jumped my warmblood in it loads of time and you just dont wont to get out of them, very easy to get on the horse, they are very secure and make you have a could sitting postion as has a deep saddle. the quality is very good, and they look great on your horse :) :)

I have a much loved 25 yr old Stubben MF Special. Its never been flocked so its sort and flat through the panels. It fits all the awkward cobs and is an indestructable hunting saddle that i have never fallen out of :D The older ones are the best as they have flatter trees ;)

i rode on one my friend owned ( she wouldn't part with it) i loved it i felt sooo secure but it was'nt the best fit for my awkward to fit WB ( always slipped)

so i brought one second hand from eBay when i asked my saddler to adjust the fit he groaned and said he hoped the tree was in good nick as I'd need a mortgage to replace the tree !!. it turned out it wasn't going to fit my horse so i sold it ( for more than i brought it for !!).
i did have a saddle made to fit my WB but I based it similar in style ( blocks shape and size) so i kind of ride on an English stubben !and love it !.

I've got one, hated it at first (colour ) but love it to ride in. Its only a couple of years old fits Pidge great and makes me feel really secure over a fence. Watch that it fits your horse as the shape of the tree doesn't suit all horses.

I have one :) it is great, I brought it 2nd hand off EBay earlier this year as a treat to myself, I saved up and I love it! the knee blocks and thigh blocks are great and keep your bum & legs in place.

I'm hoping I won't be able to fall off with it on as you are very secure in them :D

I think it is a bit heavy but not enough to worry about really!

My friends don't like riding in it both they both normally have dressage saddles.

What size is your saddle and how much do you want for it please?

I've ridden in a couple and hated them both! Very hard and uncomfortable, like sitting on a plank. I could feel the bruising on my backside for days afterwards ...
