Stubben Soft String Girths

I bought my horse one of these as a replacement for his old one which lasted about 15 years! Used it for the first time on Sunday and today he has the biggest rash over his girth area, it is very swollen but not sore to touch. He is quite sensitive but I was wandering if this had happened to anyone else with these girths? I am sure if I wash it the next time it will be fine but it is quite a noticable reaction!

I use these, and had a new one which was a rather bright brown colour, not as nice as the old one (which might have been a cheap copy). I also have a black one that someone gave me.

Mine didn't have any reaction when I first used the brown one.
That is bad luck for you. Hope that washing does the trick.

Not had any such problems with my one. But I do tend to wash girths first just in case.

Bit of a thick question but...what do you wash them in? Just warm water and a bit of washing powder, and then hang up to dry after?

mmm, i just sponge mine down with a solution of warm water and baby shampoo, then rinse it and hang it up, i wouldnt chance a washing machine, ive heard they can shrink a bit

I just bung mine in the washing machine - 30degree along with my sheepskin numnahs, girthsleeves. one I have had for 6 years and it is still like new
