opinions please????
not too many horror stories please as bought one today.

my horse loved it!! i felt comfy. tried hundreds of saddles on him and none fit. been riding him in my boss's stubben recently and he been going great. they guy was in the area today so came to try some on him.

1 fitted perfectly. every other saddle i've had to have pads etc under.

just wondering what other people though of them as i know there quite a bit of controvercy. i.e very hard therefore gives horses sore backs!!!

I had a Stubben saddle made to measure for my cob 8/9 years ago - it was the best fit for her. It still fits perfectly, never moves, only ever use a saddlecloth under it to keep it clean, is sooo comfy - even after 3 or 4 hours of riding and my mare has her back checked annually and has never had any problems. Since I have had it my cob had lost probably 15 inches of her girth and gained lots of muscle - but because it was made for her it is still a perfect fit.

Can't think of anything else to say other than I can't fault it!! I think it is probably the same with any brand of saddle if its the right one for you and your horse you will love it.

I've got a lovley 2nd hand stubben saddle for my boy and its great. He is also a bit of a difficult fit and I do stilll put a pad and a nice thick numna underneath, but he move freely in it and is comfortable (to me thats all that matters)

I have never had one so can't really comment, other than to say they are so difficult to alter/flock/repair that my local saddler won't touch them any more!

I didn't used to like them, but when my saddler recommended one as best for my old girl I thought I'd give it a try. I am thrilled with it (so long as it's got a seat saver on it

) and couldn't be happier about how she goes in it

I've recently bought her a matching bridle too

What a strange thing to do - buy one and then ask people if there is anything wrong with them! I hated the two I have ridden in, it was like sitting on a rock, and the two horses I ever put one on hated it too.

Just bought one also - one of the v. close contact jumping saddles. So far so good, it's the closest contact saddle I could find without extending my budget to afford a new butet/amerigo/similar. It is great to ride in, really secure and close. Hard seat, but that doesn't bother me as it is a showjumping saddle. I'll just put a seatsaver on it if I want to go for a long hack. Horse is going very well too. They are particularly good for high withered horses with flat backs like my typical ISH.
