I know this dealer has a very good reputation but was looking on their website and I can't believe the prices for what seem like very average horses. There is one in particular that is nearly £8,000 that basically has only done hacking and a bit of hunting. Surely these prices are OTT.

I trekked all the way up there based on the good reports I had read. I was NOT impressed with what I saw. Having said that, if a horse was absolutely genuine, sound, fit for purpose and properly trained thus far so no behavioural problems it probably should cost £8000!

a friend of mine bought what seemed like a lovely quiet horse from them but when it got home it just was not what she wanted. even allowing for it to settle etc she ended up beeing quite sharp. it did get a bit heated between both parties but in the end my friend returned the horse after 4 or 5 days and got her money back. she was prepared to try a bit longer with it however the owner wanted it back straight away in order to get her money back. my friend was happy to do that.

Just checked their web site and no horse above £6000 but when you click on it it say this page no longer available so hard to say really. £8000 is a lot for something that hasn;t done anything. Is it because of breeding that can well put the price up.

That's a serious amount of money! Have never heard anything negative about Stubley Hollow but those prices do seem pretty steep.

I bought my horse from Patsy Day at Stubley Hollow Farm around 5 years ago. I found her to be honest helpful and my horse turned out to be exactly as she said he would be. I would certainly buy another horse from her.

I bought my Irish sports horse from her 5 years ago and she is everything and more that Patsy described her as. I found Patsy very honest with regards to matching a horse to the riders needs and ability. I agree her horses may be more pricey than other dealers She does know a fair amount of background of the horses she buys, maybe not all. I would recommend them all day long if they have a horse in a price range that suits the buyer.

we have also bought a pony from Patsy at Stubley Hollow. We found her very honest, we have had the pony 2 years and she has turned out to be great, regaining all my daughters confidence........wish she was a bit bigger because she is now outgrown and up for sale...........like you say theres always good and bad experiences.
