Hacked Fly out today and took Harry (my 4yo) out as well. He leads really well and thought I could get two exercised at once. Then it rained. And Fly stopped, promptly turned his ar** to the rain and REFUSED to budge. Harry turned with him and started to lick his neck and I sat there unable to get him to move at all. After 5 minutes and a good soaking the sun came out but still Fly refused to budge. The cantankerous *** always trys it on when I lead from him as he knows I can't do a lot about it! I eventually had to get off and lead them both for half a mile then climb back on and make a dash for it before the next shower! Does your horse ever stop in the rain and point blank refuse to move?

Yep- worst thing is when leading more than one, and they all start diving under each other's necks and getting tangled up! :

Mine don't generally stop in the rain though.. they want to get exercise over and done with then back inside ASAP, like me

Yep I do but you just can't bully Fly, he will go vertical and then we get in a right old pickle, poor Harry doesn't know where to put himself!

Verticle?? I don't think I would be riding and leading from him then (I don't do verticle) Lol

If you just flick his shoulder and squeeze with your heals would he consider this byllying?

If so Fly would be leaving our partnership lol

Ha ha, Fly is Fly. He would just ignore me until he had decided he'd had enough. He only does it when I am leading as he knows I am stuffed! (I always 'win' when it is just me and him). He is one hell of an intelligent horsey!x
