I have two kwpn graded mares who i would would like to get in foal this year. I was hoping to put them to one of our boys. They have both had foals before and one has a foal at foot. We only naturaly cover with our boy and the one mare has not been covered (had foal via AI) and not interested in being covered. The other has a foal at foot and don't want to take any risks covering naturally with the foal about.

My question is does anybody know of any studs that offer any form of discount to graded mares. I was thinking that maybe a young stallion available via AI where they may wish to get some stock on the ground.

Any thoughts would be great thanks.

if you can wait a couple of weeks my boy is going for dummy mare training, then he will be available via AI only with a 50% discount for graded mares, grade A SJ, advanced event or intermediare + DR.
he is currently 3yo so doesnt have any stock on the ground yet.
if you are interested i can send you his details!

Unless you are looking for one of the top stallions, I would think that if you ring the stud they would be prepared to do some sort of dea lfor two mares.
If I get a RID mare or several mares from one owner to my stallion I always do a deal.
I work on "If you dont ask you dont get"
Good Luck with your search.

I Belive they are both studbook mares one jumped sucessfully up 140cm in holland The other is younger and never benn broken.

I think this link is interesting http://www.kwpn.nl/uploads/File/Possibilities%20for%20mares%20ENG.pdf and shows the levels quite well. Stud book is the lowest entry litterally meaning they are entered into the stud book from the foal book but with no predicate. She may be eligable for a 'Sport' predicate on her jumping results, I'm not sure you'd have to phone/email the KWPN and ask them.
I'm not in the slightest bit meaning to sound rude and i'm sure they are lovely mares and been successful in their careers but if they have not been awarded Ster or Keur then they are not considered by the KWPN to be above standard (please understand I'm not saying they are not above average, they may well be, but on their grading days they did not show themselves or have the conformation the higher entry).
If she has winning points at 1.40m she may well be eligable for a sport predicate, I would ask them, just another string to her bow.

Most studs offer a discount for graded or top class mares so ask around a bit.
We certainly do

Totally agree there. Just pick the stallion you prefer (young, established or old), contact the owner and ask. If they are graded mares then I think you will be pleasantly surprised at the answers you get. :-)

Try Beech House Stud in Stone Staffordshire, they stand four fab warmblood competition stallions, and have a wealth of experience and knowledge they are happy to share.

Yes, Amour G is available at a discount to graded mares.
