They're even actively encouraging close inbreeding further down their page... jesus christ! This photo came with a 'look at this hot new client and how desireable these cats are' type post.

I don't really understand why intentional inbreeding (or accidental inbreeding as the result of neglect/negligence) of animals isn't illegal under animal welfare laws as it is a form of cruelty.

Inbreeding (or the whitewashing term of 'line breeding') stands a high risk of deformity and is not ever of benefit to an individual animal. It is appalling that it seems we need a specific law to rule it out as so many people not only think it's a good idea but actually WANT deformities to be thrown up. And whilst we are at it please can we also make it illegal to breed to develop or enhance any kind of deformity that has a negative on the animal's physical or psychological wellbeing 😢

I see the result of in breeding in humans via my job, and the chances of abnormalities are alarmingly high and most of them are severe. It so commonly causes health problems that the genetic relationship between a child's parents is now routinely asked about when testing for genetic diseases or diagnosing certain health conditions. Even parents who are cousins (so not first-family relatives) are at high risk of having children with disabilities. I will never think it is an acceptable way to breed animals.

ETA, this whole subject really gets my goat (poor animal breeding practices), it is just such a stupid and cruel way for humans to behave :(
