Hi, I've been jumping my cob mare a lot more recently and have been really enjoying it, she has a brilliant jump and really tucks up her front legs, im just worried that shes going to start catching her tummy, have been suggested a stud girth a few times and it looks like what we need probably but i'm just not sure what to get, how well they work, are some better than others? do I really need one? We jump about 2 times a week (varies either way though) and have started competing, I have some pictures if it would help, any hep really appreciated, thank you! Sophie

Some people will say get one, others probably wont.

I've just purchased a Hywaffle weave one from Viovet for less than £30. Very happy with the quality, and provided your not jumping with studs all the time, will offer more than enough protection!

If she really tucks up in front then I would get one just to be safe. My big lad is like that and his stud girth is covered in scrapes - and that's without using studs.

Equiport had stud girths on offer when I was on their website the other day.

I always jumo with one whether he has studs in or not. He doesn't always tuck up but he does sometimes so I figured better safe than sorry. He does scrape it from time to time even when not studded.
