Stud girths

How often do people use them on here?? Do you only use them with studs or just for jumping in general? Also, has anyone had a Horse that has objected to wearing one or do they not really notice?? Many thanks.

I always use one when he is wearing studs, but not otherwise. Have never known a horse object

I use one all the time, as if your horse tucks they can knock themselves and be put off tucking. As its a good thing, I try and encourage it.

That said I've abandoned them on my weird shaped horse as his girth groove is so far back it was around his belly and wouldn't help with tucking or studs!!!

Always use when jumping, studs or no studs, you just need to look at the scrapes on one to see

Used all the time. Bought to use for outdoor jumping when wearing studs but also used for the indoor season as the stud girth fits well with the jumping saddle.

I use one all the time on my boy. My brand new stud girth was covered in scrapes after I was jumping on mon and he wasn't even wearing studs. Was doing puissance but just goes to show what could happen to your horse if he dosen't wear one.

Thanks everyone. I bought one for just in case I need to use studs (which I avoid if can). I tried it tonight and my boy didn't even notice (I don't think). Makes sense I guess to jump in it all the time.
