I am looking to breed my mare this year using AI.

I am looking for a specialised stud vet. I will not use my normal vets as they are not really stud vets.

I don't know whether to send mare away (House and Jackson offer this) at over £500 which seems rather expensive and this covers 2 cycles but I would rather pay for 1 and then pay again if needed.

Or, do I get the vet to come to me?

Who have you used? How much? Any reccomendations?

I am based in Herts/ Essex J25 M25.

Thanks.

I use Tower Equine Roger and his staff are very good. I have my mares at Bracken Spa stud and they have been fantastic and have wonderful set up for AI. They have an open day on the 23 March when you would have the chance to see everything and meet with Roger and his team.

You have quite a choice of vets that cover your area so I wouldn't think you need to send away?

RVC and Galley Hill spring to mind - then Tyrells probably go down as far as you as well alongwith all the Essex vets too.
