you can wear a martingle with one and every horse swho is wearing studs should wear one to protect them and prevent the studs causing nast injuries and i have seen some in m time

I believe they are necessary, if you saw the bumps, lumps & scars on ours you'd be of a similar opinion.

Yes a Martingale can be worn with one, there is normally a fixing strap or D ring on them for this.
