Wednesday morning Dukes mountian Pica had the most beautiful cremello filly 64.85% Arabian
Sire Tylands Xivier
Having trouble posting pics, could someone help please:)

Congrats! For pics use photobucket (open an account, hit the upload to album and select from the files on your pc) or use Image Shack which doesn't require an account. Then just copy and paste the links onto here either as a link or with
at the end :)

She is adorable!! But.. and just from the pics of course and can be difficult... am I the only one who thinks she looks as tho she could be palamino instead? I've never actually seen a cremello foal but she looks very similar to my friends palamino colt when he was born. Either way, lovely - and lovely mare too!

Hi thanks for all your lovely comments:)she is cremello as i breed them as well as palominos big blue eyes and pink skin, with palominos they dont have pink skin apart from there white markings although sometimes they can get the blue eyes :)

This is her full sister shakira as a foal

Very pretty pair!! Love them! Did that foal start out quite pale? I'm curious as I say.. friends palamino colt is very pale, like your filly this year! Am fascinated to see how his coat changes, cos when he was born he had pink skin too! Look forward to seeing your foal unfold too, so pretty!

such a pretty girl, congrats:)

I also have a question about cremellos, is it just a myth that cremellos are linked with poorer quality eyesight or is there any truth in this?

SHE IS CREMELLO IF THERE SKIN STAYS PINK AND THEY HAVE PIERCING BLUE EYES THEY ARE CREMELLO BOTH PARENTS ARE DOUBLE DILUTE!!
Cliodhna my vet thinks that later on in life that they dont see so well.:)
heres another cremello i bred xiviers sinartra now owned by Abbie Holmes
this pic you can clearly see the difference between palomino filly and frank cremello

Mugsgame, are your friend's foal's parents both dilute?

Hi Maesfen! No, my friend's colt is out of a bay mare! Actually I am surprised she hasnt posted pics - he is very handsome!! Its Rachi0's foal, on here! He is SO pale at the moment and had pink skin etc when he was born but is gradually getting darker. I insisted on being called when he was born so I could see what he looked like before he dried! You have aways been able to make out his stripe and sock though!

I love watching foal colours change - my dark foal is confusing me at the moment!! :D

Lovely girl, just sent my palomino mare away to stud to be covered by a palomino stallion think i would die if she had a cremello as I LOVE THEM x

Friskimagic very exciting:)which stallion did u use?well you have a 25% chance for your cremello!would love to see pics of foal when its born:)my cremello mare scanned infoal to day for a cremello foal next year!Sire is Xiviers Sinatra im wishing the year away already:)

Could be perlino then (double dilute of bay base coat ), difficult to tell without DNA testing.

My boy is perlino, his mane/tail are slightly darker than his coat colour and he has definate gold points, whch show off his socks nicely :D

GingerCat I'm afraid this colt can't be perlino- as I me.toned, he is out of a plain bay mare! He will have picked up one cream gene from his cremello sire so he could never be anything other than palamino, buckskin or smokey black! And he is certainly palamino, unlike his half brother who is buckskin.

Seems to be some confusion about cream dilution here... happy to be corrected but even the OP seems to think her new filly is out of double dilute parents when the mare at least only carries one copy of the cream gene ( being palamino ) and therefore only a single dilution :D

We do digress though, the filly is very pretty either way and I would love to see some updated pics! X

...you'll have to excuse me, it was late last night when I posted
.

Reading back I must have somehow mixed your post up with the photo in the original thread by mollymoo72

Cute little foal :) Looks like palomino to me. I'm pretty sure that if you match a palomino with a cremello you have a 50% chance of getting either a palomino foal or a cremello foal.
