My friends and I were so lucky yesterday evening.
Some stupid man wanting to get straight over a main road onto the sideroad we were waiting to turn right from just would not wait, thought he saw a gap between two cars coming up the main road (on our side) that just wasn't there and floored it. Needless to say, he got it wrong, smashed into the first car and sent both of them flying toward us waiting patiently at the junction.
The bang terrifed both horses who fled in panic - mine turned back and headed the way we had come and my friends took off into the main road.
Luckily neither of us or the horses where hurt, which is a miracle in itself because both cars were less than a couple of meters from us at impact and could have killed both horses no problem. Just hows how fast our boys reacted to get out of the way and I'm chuffed we both stayed on when it all happened so fast.
Took them for a wander round the block this evening - my friends horse is ok but mine's really scared of the traffic and any junctions or driveways we come to. I feel really bad for him but all I can do now is stick at it until he gets his confidence back
